Van Gogh Up Close

The only US location of this magnificent show is the
Philadelphia Museum of Art.

How lucky to live nearby and be able to experience this collection of works
by Van Gogh.  Painted towards the end of his brief life, the art is vibrant and detailed
with a focus on nature.

The brush strokes and striking color combinations are lively.
This stunning iris is from the National Gallery of Canada.
I loved seeing it for the first time in person.

At home I see his fritillaries every day in my framed poster,
but you just can't imagine the beauty of the real painting.
I could look at it forever.

I fell in love with Almond Blossom in Amsterdam.
Van Gogh's colors are just exquisite.
Perfect for a gloomy chilly Saturday.

Lynne @ Irish Garden House sent me this phenomenal video.
I want to share it with my flower-loving friends.
Thanks, Lynne!

an early Spring

We are having the most beautiful weather here!
Everything is popping up & popping out with blooms.

I took a trip to one of my favorite garden centers to find primroses,

pansies, daffodils and violas.

Inspired by Martha, I planted my urn for Spring.

I love the way it turned out!

pussy willows

11" x 14"
acrylic on canvas

Every so often I like to paint with acrylics.
Every Spring, I wonder why I don't have a pussy willow bush in my garden.
I need to remedy that some day.
