my red hollyhocks


It's Rednesday @ It's a Very Cherry World!
I'm joining in for the very first time
with my hollyhocks watercolor.

  1. Ah! Gorgeous--that red-on-blue has been extra appealing to me lately. I love the tiny white edges and your soft modeling. I know hollyhocks are very popular in Cape May, but I can't seem to grow them! :-(

  7. I am so enthralled by the beauty of hollyhocks now. I have 4 kinds of this flower and they are so gorgeous!! Your watercolor is so pretty I don't how you made this I wish I could do it too, love it much! Happy Wednesday!

  14. OH Carol, Your Hollyhock is absolutely beautiful. Your watercolors are all beautiful... your technique reminds me of the old time Dutch Masters..they'd do single genus botanicals in their travels in water colors, come back, and create oils of the still life paintings we see.
    Can ya tell I'm a floral designer..hehe
