I have some frames in my house that are very gold, almost brassy.
I am so over that look.
After repainting my fireplace bookcases and surround,
I wanted to tone down the frames in the room with this:
I love this product!
I have successfully used this on other frames in my house.
The consistency is creamy and goes on smoothly with a soft cloth.
I taped off the glass for easy clean-up. You can see the difference.
Wait about an hour and softly buff.
No more brass, just a soft silvery gold.
I've had this print for years. Now it's updated & lovely!
Very nice, thanks for the tip!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! Thank you.
ReplyDeleteThis is my favorite "metal" color! Your frames look fantastic! Thanks for the info!
ReplyDeleteI really like this new look over the gold.. A super idea Carol.
ReplyDeleteI would love to know the name of it. I might just try it on a couple of my gold frames.
thanks for sharing. val
I don't think I've every used that type of product before on frames. I have used something similar in other types of work but I don't usually colour my frames. Perhaps this is worth a try. You got good results with it and it has a soft metallic look to it. Definitely worth a trip to the art supply store.
