a visitor in my garden

The snake is back!

He's just a little garden snake, but
he's grown since last year.

Jack discovered him and meowed
to get my attention.

He was then captivated!

Buster looked at the snake briefly
and then resumed his scheduled nap.

chair prints

my French chair watercolors are now available in

We had a glorious Spring day today!
I love when the garden wakes up & tiny plants start pushing their way up.
I'm watching my lilacs, roses and hydrangeas come back to life and
my tree peony looks very promising again this year.

We put the screens in the windows and had lovely warm air floating in
and happy cats on the sills.

Hope Spring has finally come your way, too!

hydrangea chair

sold
a new chair on Etsy
8 x 10

I have been busy painting, in class & at home.
I have an orchid to show you soon, just needs some finishing touches.
I love going to watercolor workshops!
While painting at home (alone & quiet) is perfect for me,
it's fun to be in a studio with other artists.
I learn so much from the instructor and from sharing ideas
and tips with my fellow painters.  It's all so inspiring!
... and there are always new colors, brushes, etc. that I must have ; )

I put all my supplies in the same cart that I dragged in and out of
my school buildings for years, loaded then with lesson supplies, and
I bring the same lunch bag that I used to quickly dine from at my desk.

Now I pack the cart with watercolors, brushes & paper
and the bag with a lunch I can enjoy leisurely at a table of artists.

I'm very lucky to have these opportunities and by using the same old
cart and lunch bag, I'm reminded of how hard I worked to get here.

Happy St. Patrick's Day and a new print..rooster!

Hope your day is festive!
My corned beef is on the stove & smells good!

new print on Etsy

This gorgeous rooster is a print of my daughter's original pastel painting.
She worked from a photo my son had taken.
It's a beauty!  Click to enlarge the image to appreciate the details.

new prints

on Etsy

Just back from a month in Florida sunshine.
So much unpacking, laundry, cleaning, etc. to do.
Last night, the dishwasher filled up with suds and flowed out onto my
kitchen floor.  Surprise!!!  Some dish soap must have sneaked in
on something.  The remedy: After you scoop out as much as you can,
pour white vinegar on the suds & run the machine again.  Suds are gone.
I also took out all the dishes & did them by hand.  Welcome back lol!

No painting for a few days, but at the end of the week is one of my favorite times:
The Philadelphia Flower Show
and
The Longwood Garden Orchid Show!

My daughter and I love to go & take loads of pictures.
She is by far the better photographer!
